Welcome

Birdwell First Responders are a group of volunteers who work with Yorkshire Ambulance Service to give emergency life saving treatment to patients in distress until the Ambulance arrives.

Originally formed in August 2007 when the first 3 members of the group (Michelle Devonport, Tristan Drew and Glyn Devonport) completed their training with the YAS.

Community First Responders provide cover for the YAS as and when they are available. The period that they cover depends on the spare time that they have available to be on call. This may range from a couple of hours a week to several full days. It all depends what time each volunteer has available to ensure that the local community has the necessary emergency cover that it needs.

Community First Responder volunteers are needed nationwide. If you would like to find out more about being a Community First Responder in South Yorkshire please contact Emma Scott on 0845 1203155.
